We begin in the middle.
At first it seems that we are on some sort of retreat which is part archeological expedition and part vacation. I remember looking at a collection of primitive tools, rail spikes, bits of pottery and cookware. The environment reminds me of the Grand Canyon, but there is no canyon in sight. We are with a large group, but it is more like a collection of several smaller groups of friends and families. I remember deciding not to hike up to an old train station to take a ride on a refurbished coal train. There are lots of activities like that happening at different times, and I just don't feel like going on this particular expedition.
I am traveling with my wife and some friends and strangers. We are encamped with the other refugees in a tent city of sorts. The general atmosphere is chaotic, festive, and occasionally sinister. For some reason, though, we must leave. I am not sure if the tent city remains or if it evaporated behind us as we set out into the wilderness. In a short time we come upon a building. It looks like a fairly modern American high school. We enter, seeking shelter and a rest from our travels. We are not long inside before we realize that there is a menace stalking the halls.
I send my wife and our archetypal wandering companions to the auditorium of this former center of learning. Meanwhile, I attempt to locate the source of the menace. In the hallway, outside of a classroom I first encounter the T-Rex. It is about as friendly as any fictional depiction of a T-Rex I have ever seen. It sees me and begins to charge. I duck into the classroom, where I am temporarily safe, because the giant creature cannot fit through the doorway. After what seems like an eternity of roaring and screeching, the beast turns away, distracted by something or someone else moving through the hallway. I give it a moment, and when the sound of its foot falls die down, I run from the classroom into the hallway. I see a door leading to the backstage area of the auditorium. I realize that I have no idea how to find my wife and our companions.
I climb some stairs to a loft behind the curtains. At the top of the stairs a group of shaggy hippie-type guys are lounging around in various states of disheveled attire. One of them is shirtless. He greats me with a surprised "Hey, man...what's up." He sounds sleepy. I mumble something about trying to find my wife and the encounter with the dinosaur. I don't recall his response. I look to my left and see that there are several hippie-chick sirens reading and otherwise chilling on what looks like a large mattress. I walk past them toward the end of the room and they greet me in passing. At the other end of the room I find a staircase leading down.
I run down the stairs, until I reach a flooded hallway. The water is too deep to stand up, but I wade in and begin to swim. There are pieces of vinyl-covered foam material and other school detritus floating on the surface. I feel something brush against my leg. Suddenly a large eye about the size of a grapefruit on a stalk emerges from the water in front of me. It is yellow and slitted like a cat's eye. There is a clear lid covering the eye. I barely have time to react before an eruption of hot pink tentacles explodes in the water around me. They grasp at me, and the creature seems furious. I cling to a nearby foam mat of some kind and struggle to force it between me and a what I am sure is the beak of a giant squid-like creature. It wraps its tentacles around the mat and tries to pull it under. I kick at a tentacle still clutching my leg and swim as fast as I can away from the creature.
Although I am still in the water, I arrive in a space which feels safe. There is a cantina of sorts here. The bar is only a few inches above the surface of the water and is staffed by a familiar looking woman and another female humanoid creature with an otherworldly face. She looks to be half gnome, half alien. There is a raised seating area about eight feet above the surface of the water, though I cannot see any way to get there. The bartenders are friendly and offer me a drink. The drink is made from vodka and a strange pink liquor. The bottle of pink liquor is almost empty. I take a sip of the beverage and I find it sweet, refreshing and invigorating. The bartenders watch my face for signs of approval and react immediately upon seeing my eyes light up. "Good drink, huh?" the fully human bartender says. "Yes. A great drink," I respond. I go on to ask about the pink liquor. She holds up the bottle and tells me that they are almost out, but more is available if I can help them. She explains that the leviathan I just escaped from is the source of the liquor. The alien bartender smiles and hands me an empty bottle. I see that there is a rendering of a cyclopian squid monster on the side. They ask me to obtain some more for the party. I hear voices from the seating area above. Upon looking up, I see that my wife and our companions have found a way up. They all have the pink drinks in their hands. We are relieved to see each other and we express our amazement regarding the magic drinks. I tell her that I am going to get more of the pink liquor from the squid-thing. She tells me to be careful, but doesn't seem terribly worried.
I swim back in the direction of the squid-battle with the bottle in one hand. The eye breaks the surface and the squid advances on me. I kick at it under the water, trying to hit it in the beak. The tentacles flail and I grab one and jam it into the neck of the bottle. As I squeeze the tentacle and kick with both feet, the bottle fills with the hot pink fluid. I pull it away from the tentacle and hold my thumb over the opening. I try to swim away and the squid grabs my leg. I turn and smash it in the eye with the bottle. It immediately lets go and I swim as fast as I can toward the bar.
The bartenders say thank you, but don't seem terribly impressed. Apparently, this sort of thing is normal. My wife congratulates me on the acquisition and tells me to come join them on the terrace. I turn toward the bar and the alien bartender hands me a drink and begins to project directions to the terrace into my mind via some sort of telepathy. The experience of telepathic communication creates some static in my visual field. The scene begins to break apart like a television station experiencing interference. I am awake in my bed.

An Introduction To Deep Programming
Deep Programming is a very special source of information just for people like you. If you are not a person like you, then you will find the entire production quite useless.
